For service businesses

Understand the visits around your inquiries.

Measure a key action in WordPress, review the pages people visit, and give your team a useful starting point. Begin with one confirmation-page goal in Free.

A goal counts the signal you configure. A confirmation-page visit is not independently verified as a qualified lead or sale.

Follow one test inquiry from arrival to confirmation

Illustrative setup for a form that redirects to a dedicated page only after a successful submission. Configure and test your own form before relying on it.

  1. Arrive through a tagged link

Use a campaign URL such as /consultation/?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=autumn. Check the tagged arrival in Traffic Sources.

  2. Complete the form

A successful submission opens /inquiry-received/. Match that path in your goal. An invalid submission should stay on the form.

  3. Check the observed result

Look for the completion in Goals & Funnels for the test period. Check the actual inquiry in your form system separately.

Campaign reports count pageviews. Tags on an arrival are not automatically carried to later internal pages. These checks do not establish a campaign-to-inquiry attribution report.

Does it fit your inquiry route?

A dedicated confirmation page
Use the existing goal builder when a successful submission reaches a page SlimStat can record. Direct visits and repeat visits can also match the rule.
A form that stays on the same page
A submit click can happen before validation succeeds. Verify a supported success signal with your form setup; this recipe does not promise a native connector.
Phone links and external bookings
A click measures intent. It does not confirm a connected call or a completed booking on another domain or inside an embedded service.

Choose what you collect

Keep names, email addresses and form messages out of URLs and campaign tags. Configure consent, IP protection, exclusions and retention for your site.

Test as an eligible visitor. An excluded administrator or a browser that has not given required consent may not appear in the reports.

A weekly inquiry review you can act on

Demonstration data, October 19–25. This is a manually assembled review of separate reports, not a shipped email preset or a product screenshot.

Demo service site: observations to review together
ObservationThis weekWhat it tells you
Consultation page120 pageviewsRecorded interest in the service page; not 120 potential customers.
Autumn campaign40 tagged pageviewsThe campaign appeared in recorded traffic. It is not linked to the goal totals below.
Inquiry-received goal8 total conversionsThe configured completion-page rule matched. Reconcile these with the form's successful submissions.

Next question: did the recorded confirmations correspond to useful inquiries? Check your form records before changing a campaign budget. Missing visits, direct confirmation-page access and repeat actions can affect the comparison.
