Who is behind SlimStat
SlimStat Analytics is built and maintained by VeronaLabs, the same team behind WP Statistics. Our registered address is Tornimäe 5, Tallinn, Estonia, and that address appears in the footer of every page on this site and in our privacy policy.
We work in public. The plugin is distributed through the WordPress.org plugin directory, its source lives on GitHub, and every release is logged in the public changelog. If you want to know what changed and when, you never have to ask us; you can read it.
A plugin with a long history
SlimStat has been listed on WordPress.org since 2010, which makes it one of the older analytics plugins still under active development. It was created and shepherded for years by Jason Crouse, and it is his work that made SlimStat what it is.
VeronaLabs acquired the plugin from him and announced the handover publicly in November 2023. That announcement carried one commitment above all the others: we keep your data safe. Everything below is the practical expression of it.
What followed was maintenance work rather than a rebrand. By version 5.1 we had shipped 18 updates since taking over: a cleaned-up and more readable interface, hardened plugin security across several releases, compatibility fixes, a move to more compliant libraries to stay inside WordPress.org standards, and the return of the much-requested add-ons, regrouped as the SlimStat Pro pack. Every release since is listed on the changelog, security fixes named rather than folded into "various improvements".
What we actually stand for
Understanding your website should not require handing your visit records to an external analytics service. SlimStat stores those records on your own hosting and brings the reports into the WordPress dashboard you already use.
You choose what to collect, who can see it and how long to keep it. Privacy settings need to be configured for your site; installing a plugin alone does not establish compliance.
Here is what that means for you:
Your hosting, your data. Visit records are stored on your server. Back up and move that database when you change hosts. On uninstall, you choose whether SlimStat data is deleted.
No third-party pipeline. Nothing is sent to us in order to produce your reports.
Practical privacy controls. Connect consent choices, protect IP addresses and choose when old records are deleted. Follow the privacy and consent guide to review the defaults.

Free plugin, optional Pro
The core plugin is free and includes one active conversion goal. SlimStat Pro is a paid add-on for people who need more: heatmaps, every campaign and traffic channel, more goals and funnels, scheduled email reports, spreadsheet exports, Pro report shortcodes, a user overview report, network-wide analytics for Multisite, and the option to store tracking data in a separate external database. Pro purchases carry a 14-day money-back guarantee, and licences renew annually for continued updates and support; auto-renewal can be switched off in your account at any time. Even with Pro active, the arrangement is unchanged: the data is still yours, still on your infrastructure, and the external database option exists precisely so you can decide where it lives.
