Slimstat 5.3 – Smarter Charts, Better Tracking

Slimstat Analytics Update — Red notebook with a speech bubble showing the Slimstat logo and the word "UPDATE" in bold red letters, symbolizing the release of version 5.3.

Slimstat Analytics 5.3 delivers cleaner visuals, smarter tracking, and full compatibility with modern WordPress tools.

Redesigned Line Charts

Our line charts received their most substantial update in years — designed not just to look better, but to help you understand your data faster and more intuitively.

  • Improved layout and clearer metric separation (Pageviews, Unique IPs, etc.)
  • Totals for the selected date range now appear directly above the graph
  • Time resolution options: Hourly, Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Yearly
  • Enhanced tooltips show detailed values and comparisons with the previous period
  • Toggle to show/hide previous period for simpler views

Smarter Layout & Clear Metric Separation

Different metrics like Pageviews and Unique IPs are now displayed with better spacing and clearer color contrast. Even with multiple datasets enabled, the chart remains readable at a glance

Summarized Totals Above the Chart

No need to guess or calculate — totals for the selected period (e.g. total pageviews, total unique IPs) are now displayed clearly above the chart. This saves time and removes friction when comparing overall trends.

Better Tooltips. Better Insights

To make charts even more intuitive, we’ve enhanced the tooltips with concise explanations of each metric.
Now, when you hover over chart elements, you’ll see helpful hints—like whether a line represents the current or previous period—making it easier to interpret the data at a glance.

Hover for Instant, Contextual Insights

When you hover over a point in the graph, you now see not just that day’s metrics, but exactly which day it’s being compared against in previous periods. This makes it easy to interpret patterns and growth (or drop) in real terms.

Time Granularity Selector

Whether you need a zoomed-in view (hourly), a daily snapshot, or a long-term overview (weekly, monthly, yearly), you can now switch between all major time resolutions right from the chart

These changes aim to improve visual clarity and streamline your workflow when interpreting analytics data.

Ad Blocker Bypass (Optional)

Modern browsers and ad blockers are increasingly capable of blocking scripts—including those used by analytics tools.
This means that some visitors may not appear in your reports, even though they’re actively interacting with your website.

Slimstat 5.3 introduces a smarter way to handle this.

We’ve added a new setting to help site owners bypass tracking filters and collect more complete data, without sacrificing performance.

Here’s how it works:

  • Multiple Transport Methods:
You can now choose between using admin-ajax.php (our default) or the REST API, which is faster and more modern.
  • Faster Tracking:
The REST API offers a faster, more modern way to send tracking data — reducing load times and improving overall responsiveness
  • Ad Blocker Bypass Mode:
When enabled, this mode randomizes the name and path of the tracking script, using a hash-based URL that’s hard for ad blockers to detect.
It also reroutes data requests through hashed endpoints, making it harder for filter lists to recognize Slimstat as a tracker.

The result?
Your analytics can now capture visits that would otherwise go completely unnoticed — especially useful for sites with high-tech audiences or privacy-aware users.

While tools like Google Analytics are often blocked by popular browser extensions and content filters, Slimstat gives you the option to go further.
By enabling this feature, you can recover a significant portion of lost traffic data — visitors that most platforms simply miss.
If having a more complete picture of your audience is important to you, Slimstat makes that possible

This option is disabled by default, and it’s up to you to decide whether to enable it.
We respect your choice—and your users’ expectations.

Compatibility with WordPress Interactivity API

As WordPress moves toward more dynamic, app-like front-end experiences, the introduction of the Interactivity APImarks a major shift in how content is rendered and updated.

With Slimstat 5.3, we’ve added full support for this new architecture.

Whether you’re building headless interfaces, using block-based themes, or adopting reactive UI behaviors powered by Interactivity API, Slimstat ensures that:

  • Your analytics tracking stays accurate
  • Visitor behavior is captured seamlessly
  • No events or pageviews go missing, even with client-side rendering

You can now embrace the performance and UX benefits of the Interactivity API without compromising on data integrity.
Slimstat is ready for the next generation of WordPress — and so is your dashboard.

Bug Fixes

  • Top Categories and Tags reports now show human-readable names instead of numeric IDs
